Tradition meeting modernity

Pink Cactii is a Jaipur-born fashion brand weaving together Rajasthan's rich textile heritage with contemporary silhouettes. Named in homage to the Pink City, the brand channels the resilience of the desert cactus and the romance of Jaipur's famed colour — crafting cotton-based ethnic and western ensembles that empower women while supporting local artisans.

This project centred on creating a comprehensive Brand Deck — a publication document communicating Pink Cactii's identity, values, brand personality, and strategic direction to potential partners, investors, and collaborators. It was an exercise in translating a living brand into a cohesive visual and editorial language.

Beyond design, I led the brand photoshoot — capturing raw moments in the atelier, the craft, and the founders — to give the deck an authentic, textured visual world that no stock library could provide.

approach

Brand Storytelling
Every spread was built around narrative first. The deck opens with heritage and moves toward vision — structuring the brand's journey the way a story unfolds, chapter by chapter, from roots to the runway.
Visual Language
A collage-based cover composed of torn fabric swatches — silks, florals, blockprints — radiating from a single point. This visual motif echoes the brand's core: many traditions, one identity. The pink cross device grounds the identity across layouts.
Photography Direction
I shot the brand world — artisans hand-stitching, block printers at their tables, the founders in conversation. Warm, low-key lighting and shallow depth of field gave the imagery intimacy and authenticity, avoiding anything that felt staged or commercial.

Brand Deck Design & Layout
Designed the full publication from scratch — cover, interior spreads, typography system, grid structure, and colour palette — ensuring every page communicated both the craft heritage and contemporary ambition of Pink Cactii.

Brand Photography Direction
Led and shot the brand photoshoot, capturing artisans, founders, and the atelier environment. The photography provided the deck with an authentic visual world rooted in the real craft behind the brand.

Brand Narrative & Content Strategy
Structured the deck's narrative arc — from brand study and personality to target audience, guidelines, and founder story — shaping how Pink Cactii tells its story to the world. Worked closely with the founders to surface and articulate their core values.

Cover Artwork & Collage Design
Created the signature cover — a collage of hand-torn fabric swatch forms radiating from a central axis, rendered as a layered graphic piece. This became the defining visual identity of the deck and was replicated across all mockup formats.

A brand deck that made Pink Cactii's heritage visible.
The publication gave Pink Cactii a strategic and visual foundation to present itself to collaborators, press, and investors with confidence. By combining publication craft with real photography, the deck communicated not just what the brand sells — but what it stands for.

This project deepened my practice in publication design, brand communication, and the discipline of translating an intangible brand identity into a physical, tactile document. It reinforced that great design is inseparable from genuine storytelling.
